Department Overview
Raymond James’ Facilities and Environmental Sustainability Department, as part of Raymond James Office Services, provides facilities and construction project management services and supports the firm’s environmental sustainability program. Key areas include facilities operations and maintenance, capital project planning and execution, critical facilities/infrastructure support, utilities management, and implementation of sustainability initiatives that reduce our environmental impact. Our focus is to provide strategic value to the firm in the most cost-effective manner and support the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit.
Job Summary
As a Spring Associate-Environmental Analyst, you will gain valuable hands-on experience and exposure supporting our senior Environmental Analyst in providing analytical support for the firm’s facilities and environmental sustainability programs. You will also collaborate with associates and department leaders on various functional activities and special projects. This will enable you to develop both technical and practical skills in the core competencies. This role will require you to maintain regular communication with both internal and external contacts to fulfill your responsibilities and successfully complete your work activities.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, up to 20 hours per week
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collects, processes, and analyzes firm-wide utilities, environmental, and operational data (e.g., metrics, key performance indicators, etc.).
- Supports annual environmental sustainability reporting efforts (e.g., Corporate Responsibility, Carbon Disclosure Project, etc.) and assists marketing efforts in support of environmental sustainability goals.
- Researches and processes a wide range of data from various business units including but not limited to building/property information (e.g., location, occupancy, square footage), corporate travel and purchases, employee commuting, and investments to determine utilities and environmental data and impacts.
- Organizes utilities and environmental information and prepares management reports in a format that can be quickly reviewed by management.
- Maintains a centralized repository of utilities, greenhouse gas emissions, waste, recycling, expenditures, fiscal savings, and related environmental data.
- Supports project performance tracking and verifies expected savings.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of–
- Sustainability concepts, policies, and processes.
- Basic knowledge of utility systems, ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, and current energy technologies and trends.
- Basic principles and practices of energy accounting.
- Scope 1, 2 & 3 greenhouse gas emissions and calculations.
- Awareness of greenhouse gas disclosure frameworks, systems and protocols (such as CDP, TCFD, IFRS S2, and the GHG Protocol).
- Environmental rules and regulations.
Skill in–
- Detail orientation, organization, and accuracy.
- Independently analyzing utilities and environmental information (quantitative and qualitative) and preparing reports.
- Performing mathematical calculations.
- Time management and initiative sufficient to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Operating standard office equipment and using, or having the ability to learn, required software applications including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
- Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, templates, reporting).
Ability to–

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S. or M.S. in Finance, Business, Sustainability, or a related field
- 3.0+ GPA or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
