As a Takeda MBA Intern, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful projects that play a crucial role in shaping both our business and the well-being of patients. This experience will not only allow you to apply your technical and business knowledge but also empower you to showcase your analytical strength and creative problem-solving skills.
Within Global Insights & Analytics (GIA), you'll be part of the Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS) commercial group. The primary focus of GPLS is to shape the global product strategy journey for mid-to-late pipeline assets through to launch. The GIA is made up of strategic thought partners within GPLS who catalyze data-driven decision making through deep customer and competitive insights, robust analytics and broad market expertise to impact the lives of the patients we serve.
The GIA Immunology MBA Intern will actively engage with the cross-functional TAK-279 team and contribute to the strategic plans of an exciting and highly visible late-stage development program in Takeda.
TAK-279 is an investigational oral allosteric tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2) inhibitor with next generation selectivity, being evaluated for the treatment of multiple immune-mediated inflammatory diseases, such as psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.

Project Outline:
What to expect:

  • Sole responsibility for at least one insights project to be presented to cross-functional and GIA stakeholders by the end of the Summer Internship period.
  • Direct managerial support and coaching from a GIA Lead with opportunities for mentorship and coaching from commercial colleagues.

Projects are intended to develop insights skills, provide a sense of ownership and illuminate the breadth and diversity of an Insights & Analytics role within a global healthcare organization. You will get exposure to different functional areas within Takeda, including commercial, market access, medical affairs, program management and regional colleagues. Through these projects, you will gain valuable experience communicating your ideas to a broad audience, understanding the broader context of their work and how it contributes to the organization.
  • Ideally, one project will be within your existing skill set, and another a stretch assignment.
  • One project will focus on Immunology/TAK-279 and another may have broader reach across the GIA function.
  • Projects will encompass a mix of competitive intelligence, secondary market research and primary market research.
  • You will have the opportunity to support and/or shadow a GIA Lead on ad hoc projects to expand your reach within the GIA function.

Potential projects include:
  • Competitive Intelligence + Secondary Market Research
    • Performance analysis and assessments of marketed products and identification of implications for Takeda and recommendations on next steps.
    • Develop and communicate an understanding of a non-Takeda brand that is available across multiple therapeutic areas and indications, including how it is managed, organizational structure, go-to market strategy, positioning and promotion. Share best practices and learnings from this product-as-a-portfolio model.
    • Conduct ad hoc primary research on immediate requests from clinical, regulatory and commercial teams to inform strategic decisions.
    • Analyze and identify implications and recommendations from secondary research reports about future competitors.
  • Primary Market Research
    • You will play a critical role in the evolution of the following projects:
      • Positioning statement primary market research
      • Healthcare Provider (HCP) segmentation primary market research
      • Treatment conversations between HCPs and patients

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Operates with a high level of integrity; able to uphold the Takeda values of Patient, Trust, Reputation, Business (PTRB)
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Enrolled in an accredited MBA Program.
  • Professional experience in life science, healthcare, marketing or analytics preferred.
  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship with Takeda.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
  • Experience conducting secondary "desk" market research, synthesizing learnings and making evidence-based recommendations strongly preferred.
  • Experience conducting qualitative and/or quantitative primary market research strongly preferred.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Takeda does not provide sponsorship for internship positions.
  • Available to work full-time (40 hours per week), within the core business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, for 10 to 12 weeks during the summer months.
  • This is a hybrid position. In order to maximize your experience, you are expected to be in the office two to three days per week in Kendall Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

The hourly pay rate range is $20.00 per hour - $46.00 per hour. The final pay rate offered for this internship may consider several factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience.
