Intern
The Intern Program job gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry by attending meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business-specific tasks, and working closely with cross-functional groups to better understand the organization. Over the 10-week summer internship program, this job participates in a robust training and onboarding program followed by an ongoing speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and cohort engagement activities. This job may have the opportunity to work in the follow business areas: Technology, Asset Management, Financial Analysis/Accounting, Audit, Risk and Compliance, Human Resources and Advice and Client Relationships.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Performs clerical duties such as organizing documents, maintaining files, photocopying, faxing, etc.
  • Assists in preparing information and research materials, including Powerpoint presentations.
  • Takes notes during meetings and provides to team members.
  • Researches and gathers documentation as directed by colleagues.
  • Attends company functions, including trainings programs, speaker series, lunch-and-learns and social networking events that provide opportunities for career growth and personal development.
  • Shadows multiple office jobs and trains in a variety of tasks.
  • Gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The 10-week summer internship program is designed to challenge students by providing opportunities to provide hands-on experiences, skills training, and valuable professional networking to assist students with identifying and building on their career interests. This role gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the financial services industry by attending meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business-specific tasks, and working closely with cross-functional groups to better understand the Nuveen businesses.
The program includes a robust training and onboarding program followed by our ongoing speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and cohort engagement activities, as well as direct access to executive and senior leadership, mentors, and previous interns.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
You will have the opportunity to work in exciting business areas including but not limited to:
Americas Institutional Advisory Services:
The Americas Institutional Advisory Services team is responsible for distributing Nuveen's investment products and solutions to Americas-based institutional investors.
US Wealth Advisory Sales and Service
The Nuveen US Wealth Advisory team is responsible for distributing Nuveen's products and solutions while driving growth in their territories by utilizing the entire firm's investment affiliates and solutions to help clients address their unique challenges and goals
Global Sales and Advisor Development:
Global Sales and Advisory Development team within Distribution is tasked with delivering a platform that supports a culture of knowledge acquisition and skill development within the Nuveen Global Client Group organization.
Global Client Group
The Global Client Services organization is comprised of three divisions - Client Services, which is tasked with delivering market-leading service to Nuveen clients, New Business Services, which partners with distribution to capitalize on new business opportunities, and Client Experience, which focuses on strategic initiatives to enhance the global platform and deliver a superior client experience.
Note: All areas are subject to change given business needs.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Full-time student, currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Graduation date between Winter 2024 and Spring 2026

DESIRED SKILLS (Preferred not required):
  • Minimum Overall GPA of 3.0 or better
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in related fields including Accounting, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, Communications, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics or similar degree programs
  • Internship experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication, presentation, problem-solving/analytical skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and deliver on commitments
  • Previous internship or work experience a plus
  • Demonstrated interest within the investment management industry is preferred
  • Independent and original thinker
  • Self-discipline and self-motivation
  • Strong level of integrity with an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Minimum of 2 years of working knowledge or academic experience in using Microsoft Office products or similar products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)

Anticipated Posting End Date:

Base Pay Range: $25.00/hr. - $28.00/hr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
