Northrop Grumman is seeking a Material Review Board (MRB) Mechanical Engineer. This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Iuka, MS. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman's Vehicle Engineering directorate.
Essential Functions:
The selected candidate will:

  • Assist with the dispositioning of withhold supplier tags.
  • Design repairs for discrepant detail parts and assemblies fabricated from composite materials.
  • Interface with multiple suppliers and stakeholders to include Structural Analysis, Materials & Processing, and Manufacturing personnel in the design center and build facilities.

Basic Qualifications:
This requisition may be filled at either an Associate MRB Mechanical Engineer level (T01) or a MRB Mechanical Engineer level (T02).
Basic Qualifications for an Associate MRB Mechanical Engineer (T01):
A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
  • Be completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The candidate must:
  • Be completing or has completed their Master's degree from an accredited institution or is completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
  • Be majoring in or having majored in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree.
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher (unofficial academic transcripts must be provided at time of application by uploading the documents to your application or profile)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret or Top Secret Clearance as well as Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite).

Preferred Qualifications for both an Associate MRB Mechanical Engineer (T01) & MRB Mechanical Engineer (T02):
  • Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
  • Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular).
  • Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
  • Hands on experience in a composites manufacturing facility
  • Experience with military specs and standards

Pay Range:
  • Associate Mechanical Engineer (T01): $53,700 - $80,500
  • Mechanical Engineer (T02): $64,900 - $97,300
