Job Overview

Dallas International School (DIS) is accredited by ISAS (Independent Schools Association of the Southwest), France's Ministry of Education, and the International Baccalaureate Organization.

With 686 students of over 30 nationalities, DIS is an international school on a human scale and the only one with a French and multilingual curriculum in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, a city of seven million inhabitants which is in full demographic and economic expansion. DIS is proud to be one of the few schools globally to offer both the IB's Bilingual and Advanced Bilingual Diploma programs in a variety of languages. As Deputy Head of International Program and DP Coordinator, you will review all IB teacher activities, design related guidelines and/or procedures and issue program-related directives. This role will also be charged with establishing and maintaining relationships with secondary schools and universities.


Job duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Overseeing and directing faculty and staff working under the assigned area of responsibility, and managing IB related activities.
  • Supervising the IB track curriculum and instruction for 9th-12th grade, and overseeing the IB extended essay process.
  • Coordinating the IBO application, accreditation and auditing processes, while ensuring that the school meets all IBO regulations and deadlines.
  • Communicating with the IBO, providing required reports, and maintaining IB publications.
  • Collaborating in the development of tests and tools to measure the effectiveness of curriculum and/or educational services, and measuring the attainment of program objectives.
  • Formulating recommendations and procedures for current and proposed units of instruction.
  • Organizing informational meetings with prospective parents and students, and working with other departments and/or faculty to coordinate testing for IB program applicants.
  • Monitoring student progress, making recommendations to parents and students as necessary.
  • Ordering, sending, receiving and tracking student materials.
  • Participating in the IB faculty selection process with HR, Headmaster and Head of Secondary, and coordinating IB training enrollment and travel.
  • Assisting the Head of Secondary with the creation of school schedules for the IB track.
  • Facilitating the provision of necessary documents to complete the college applications for IB-track students, per the request of college/university personnel.
  • Participating in research activities concerned with educational programs and services.
  • Evaluating data obtained from research studies and preparing narrative and statistical reports for dissemination to school administrators.
  • Maintaining accurate and complete academic records.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
  • Five (5) years of teaching experience
  • Five (5) years of IB Coordination and/or Specialized Programs Coordination
  • Knowledge of the IB and/or FB programs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in Education or related field
  • Seven (7) years of related experience
  • Bilingual in English/French strongly preferred
  • Experience using Blackbaud information system or other education related software
