Summary
The Preschool Director provides and coordinates support, resources, supervision and leadership to ensure the health, safety and educational practices are in compliance with the rules set forth by the Tennessee State Department of Human Services.The Preschool Director must be willing to work in a Christian environment, collaborate with Assistant Director, attend St. Paul Church Council meetings, report to the Senior Pastor and the Staff Parish Relations Committee.
·Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays 7:45 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
·Additional flexible hours as needed for planning, appointments, and meetings not to exceed an average of 30 hours weekly

Duties
·Ensures the smooth functioning of all aspects of the preschool environment and facilities
·Oversees program development and classroom instructional monitoring throughout the school year
·Provides supervision, leadership, and support to all preschool teachers and staff
·Fosters a collaborative work environment
·Facilitates recruitment, hiring, training of new staff, leads yearly Inservice meetings, conducts performance evaluations, submits payroll
·Oversee compliance with all continuing education needs
·Maintain high quality preschool environment within the community by promoting the preschool through tours, Open House, holiday events, and marketing/fundraising events
·Develops and maintains positive relationships with preschool families with open communication and resolutions when needs arise
·Follows and ensures all Rules Regulations set forth by TN DHS Child Care Centers are followed to maintain license
·Directs short-term and long-range strategic planning in consultation with Senior Pastor, Church Council and Preschool Advisory Committee
·Establishes annual budget and operate within the budget approved by the St. Paul UMC Finance Committee
·Facilitates collection of tuition, registration, and fees
·Performs additional duties as assigned
Requirements
·Education:
-Bachelor’s degree from accredited college 1 year full-time experience with children in a group setting, OR
-TN Early Childhood Administrator Credential (or 36 hours of coursework in business management, child/youth development, early childhood education) and 2 years of full-time experience with children in a group setting, OR
-High School Diploma, TN Early Childhood Training Alliance Certificate for 30 hours of Administrator Orientation training, and 4 years of full-time experience with children in a group setting

·High degree of initiative and dedication
·Strong written and oral communication skills
·Ability to work well with others (staff, children, parents, members of the church and community) to foster a team environment and achieve standards of excellence
·Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and licensure compliance
·Budgeting and financial management experience
·Ability to use technology
