Job Description
We’re looking for a confident and reliable Assistant Manager to support our Store Manager with the daily business operations and fill in for the Store Manager when needed. The Assistant Manager’s responsibilities include training staff, managing inventory, ensuring a safe, clean and aesthetically pleasing store environment, assisting customers, and ensuring the sales team meet its goals of efficiency and customer satisfaction.
To be successful as an Assistant Manager you should have strong leadership and decision-making skills. An outstanding candidate will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
Store Operations Support:
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of the store's operations, including sales performance, inventory management, and customer service
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and implement effective strategies to achieve sales targets and maximize store profitability
- Help monitor and analyze sales reports to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
- Support in maintaining a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment
Team Leadership and Development:
- Support the Store Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising a team of sales associates, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent customer service
- Assist in motivating and inspiring the store team to achieve individual and collective goals
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement performance improvement plans when necessary
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, open communication, and personal growth
Customer Service Excellence:
- Provide support in ensuring all customers receive a friendly, helpful, and personalized shopping experience
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and satisfactory manner
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, promoting brand loyalty and repeat business
- Stay updated on current fashion trends and product knowledge to assist customers effectively
Visual Merchandising Support:
- Assist the Store Manager in implementing visual merchandising strategies to create appealing and visually enticing store displays that showcase products effectively
- Help ensure merchandise is properly tagged, priced, and displayed according to company guidelines
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to maintain a visually appealing store environment
· Administrative Tasks:
- Assist with administrative tasks such as inventory management, stock replenishment, and cash management
- Support in conducting regular store audits to ensure compliance with operational procedures and loss prevention measures
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to analyze key performance indicators and make data-driven recommendations for improving store operations
Position Type
- Full-Time (30-40 hour work week)
- Overtime is not expected of this position, but may be required based on operational needs
Skills/Qualifications/Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a retail management role, preferably in the clothing industry.
- Proven ability to support store operations, including sales, inventory management, and customer service.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and motivate a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using computer systems and point-of-sale (POS) software.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
