The 1st Shift Supervisor (Monday - Friday 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM) ensures safe and productive operation, leads continuous improvement using 6S, and maintains a positive work environment for our just-in-time fascia assembly operations.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Sequencing Production Supervisor
- Monitor internal work in process (WIP) and inventory of sequenced material.
- Ensure the productivity of team during assigned shift and maintain throughput.
- Build and maintain a strong and successful team including communicating expectations, providing support (including coaching and feedback) and recognition, and resolving potential issues.
- Assist in recruiting and interviewing new team members.
- Maintain quality results by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Provide production metrics by analyzing performance records data, answering questions and responding to requests.
- Complete production plan by monitoring OEM (original equipment manufacturer) bank, queue and triggers by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems; and accurately reporting results of the process on production summaries.
- Monitor rework / replacement logs and applicable documentation.
- Prioritize safety, 5S and alignment with standard policies and procedures.
- Actively work to improve efficiency and meet or exceed customer's productivity and quality goals.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues. Facilitate root cause analysis on failures within the process. Report findings and recommendations.
- Initiate and foster a spirit of cooperation with and between departments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATIONS - Sequencing Production Supervisor
- High School diploma or GED
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening and conflict resolution
- Enjoys leading others
- Team player
- General computer skills and strong ability to navigate inventory systems
- Enjoy problem solving skills to correct issues and drive continuous improvement
- Good understanding of production flow process
- Automotive just-in-time sequencing experience preferred
