Perform a variety of assigned housekeeping focused tasks; such as, sweep DC floors, keep railings and work surfaces clean and dust free, address trash needs in work areas and take a proactive approach to opportunities you see during the day.
Essential Functions:
Regular and reliable attendance.
Must be a meets or exceeds expectations in current areas of job performance.
Adhere to established federal/state/company safety procedures as well as company policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as requested by the department lead, supervisor and/or manager assigned to the Porter role.
Must operate Floor Sweeper and Floor Scrubber.
Ensure personal and facility compliance with company requirements as it relates to PSE, Hazmat, HIPAA, etc.
All trash containers will be emptied one per day and / or when full. Full trash containers are not to be staged, they are to be taken and disposed into the compactor as soon as available. Staging trash invites infestation.
Clean all fire exits and escapes and ensure free from debris and obstructions weekly to include wiping all horizontal surfaces and sweeping and mopping the floor. Report any obstructions to the Facility Services Manager or designee.
All floor level storage locations are to be cleaned quarterly. i. Pallet to be removed ii. Sweep and / or vacuum floor and flue space iii. Disinfectant mop or electrostatic spray floor and flue space 1. Mop using diluted bleach 6:1 water: bleach 2. Electrostatic spray using Bioesque sanitizer
Upon notification, porters will clean spills and place in trash as appropriate. Facility Services will ensure all porters are well trained in clean up measures and appropriate PPE.
All aisle and dock floors are to be cleaned to include floor scrubbing bi-weekly.
As assigned clean exterior areas and entrances
Deep clean production areas as assigned including walls, rack, under conveyors, and other equipment
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical demands: This position has the following lifting requirements:
Frequently lift 20 to 45 pounds.
Occasionally lift greater than 45 to 75 pounds.
Frequent bending, reaching and stooping.
Constant walking, standing and pulling.
Work environment: Warehouse environment, which includes rolling equipment, and conveyors.
Required Qualifications
Basic understanding of English (read, write & comprehend).
Must be a colleague that can work independently, takes pride in wanting to do a good job and who will work efficiently and productively.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work any overtime as required ensuring that all areas needing to be addressed are complete.
Ability to work within a team atmosphere.
If selected, must remain in the position for a minimum of 6 months.
