1St Shift Material Handler

Position Summary:

The Material Shipping supports the movement and shipping of material for all departments including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality and/or Materials.

Responsibilities of Position:

1. Maintaining cleanliness inside and outside of Manufacturing Plant.
2. Must be willing to be trained in Forklift Operations and Safety. Also be able to obtain an approved Forklift License.
3. Performs weigh counts as needed.
4. Maintain organization inside and outside of the building.
5. Prepare shipping documents and send EDI/ASN’s.
6. Read and edit picklist etc.
7. Properly scan labels and verify proper location of labels etc.
8. Perform Dock Audits load confirmation scanning.
9. Proper staging and locations of containers.
10. Prepare items for shipment by assembling containers/posting weights.
11. Load and Unload trucks.
12. Follow designated FIFO rotation.
13. Support inventory control system requirements.
14. Participate in 5-why’s.
15. Maintain IATF standards/requirements procedures pertaining to Materials.
16. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as needed.
17. Must be able to work any shift and be available to change within a 1-2 week notice.
18. Must be able to perform the material mover duties

20. Must be reliable.
21. Performs related duties and special projects as assigned.

Skill Requirements:

1. Individual must be highly motivated
2. Communicate in a team environment and be willing to accept team role (s) and responsibilities.
3. Treat peers and management with dignity and respect.
4. Pallet jack and/or Fork Lift Experience (preferred).
5. Material Shipping/Warehouse Experience (preferred).
6. Must have basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Education and Experience Requirements:

1. High school graduate or GED (minimum).

Licensing or Special Certification Requirements:

1. Must be able to successfully obtain a Forklift License.

Physical Requirements:

1. Occasionally lifts up to 35 pounds.
2. Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
3. Work time is spent walking, lifting, and bending.
4. Must be able to continuously bend, twist, reach, stoop, squat and walk.
5. Must be able to occasional climb steps.
6. Works within an automotive components manufacturing, office, and warehouse setting.
7. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in the wet, cold and heat.
