Job Description
SUMMARY: Assisting Maintenance Supervisor to replace or repair manufacturing equipment and tooling as needed; provide the building and the surroundings with maintenance as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Repairing and maintaining facility and production equipment following manufacturer’s specifications.
- Assisting janitors with trash removal.
- Interpreting hydraulic and electrical blueprints.
- Using hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments to service and/or maintain equipment.
- Inspecting and measuring parts to detect wear on equipment.
- Using gas, electrical, brazing, soldering and welding equipment.
- Snow and ice removal from facility parking lot and walk way area.
- Setting up and operating lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Working as part of a team in performing various maintenance projects.
- Assisting engineers to modify sketches or designs of facility equipment components.
- Testing facility equipment performance, cleaning and lubricating parts.
- Installing facility equipment according to specifications.
- Troubleshooting electrical, hydraulic and mechanical equipment.
- Using ladders and scissor lift/Sky-jack.
- Using electric and gas lifts.
- Rigging/setting up of large, heavy parts for processing.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience and Education:
- High School degree or GED
- May have an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or comparable on the job experience.
- 3 years’ experience or trade school knowledge of HVAC or electrical work.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to communicate, read and write in English. Employee will be required to bend, stand and each. Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Normal mental and visual attention along with manual coordination.
Language Skills: Employee must be able to read and write in English. Employee must be able to have good communication with fellow employees, supervisors and management.
