Summary
Currently recruiting for Machine Operators for the Dark Meat and Thigh Debone area for first shift. The overall purpose of this position is to support production in its daily operation to provide quality product, safe and efficient processing. This position involves machine adjustments for yield, quality, maintenance and post maintenance work which requires technical knowledge of equipment and departmental processes. Be able to do post maintenance work on machineries as scheduled by management. Hours vary due to production need, generally 7am-5:30pm
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Reads, interprets and understands manufacturers' equipment manuals, preventative (PM) task sheets and safety policies.
- Set up and maintain the machineries in the department for daily operation use.
- Operate the Foodmate Deboning machines making adjustments to debone to its best potential to ensure that we produce the highest quality products at the most efficient and safest way possible to include maximum yield return.
- Coordinate with supervision on processing needs.
- Be able to do Post maintenance of equipment as scheduled by management.
- Minor adjustments to machine of blades, sensors, photo eyes.
- Be aware of daily needs in advance to be prepared for product changes.
- Be able to grasp aspect of the machine change over and carry out with little or no direction.
Minimum Education
High School or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
- External: 6 months minimum related experience. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.
- Internal: 6 months in current position, 2 occurrences or less, no active disciplinaries. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.
Experience Preferred
Mechanical background. Specialized mechanical field and credentials are preferred but not required, basic technical and or mechanical knowledge is a must.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Able to work in temperatures ranging from 32-60 degrees fahrenheit with ambient humidity, noise exposure of 91.0db. PAA exposure of .06ppm (airborne). Must wear personal protective equipment. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. and safely go up and down the ladder as needed. Must be certified on lock out tag out and be able to work safely with blades.
