1St Shift Custodian

Notions Marketing is fast-moving, customer-obsessed company focused on brings artists and crafters around the globe the products they need to create their next work of art.

Both our administrative offices and our warehouse facilities are located in the Madison Square District of Grand Rapids and it is here that we stock everything from pencils and pens to craft paper, googly eyes, yarn, scissors, anything in between. We work hard and have fun while we do it!

We are actively looking for a hands-on individual to join our team as a Custodian FULL-TIME on 1stshift (6am – 2:30pm) .

This position will provide custodial services to all parts of the assigned administrative and warehouse facilities which include:

• Offices
• Conference rooms
• Lobbies
• Restrooms
• Break rooms
• Stairwells

This level of custodian is fully trained and knowledgeable of:

• Cleaning solutions
• Janitorial equipment
• Comfortable working around chemical cleaning compounds
• All department procedures
• Cleaning techniques

Additionally, the person in this position must have a positive attitude, a good work ethic, and the ability to work well with minimal supervision. They will be responsible for planning and organizing to ensure effective time management with the ability to make routine decisions, while exercising a high degree of initiative, and be able to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the company.

Required Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years or older
• Demonstrated consistent work history

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2 to 4 years of previous custodial or janitorial work experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance repeatedly
• Ability to stand and/or walk for 8-10 hours for entire shift
• Ability to perform repetitive movements regularly (e.g. bending, squatting, crouching, twisting, stooping, and reaching).
• Proficient in English reading, writing, and communication
• Basic math and matching skills (letters/number combinations)
• High attention to detail
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Work independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable attendance, adhering to company policies
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• General computer operating knowledge
• Immediate perception of auditory warning signals (bells, alarms, and horns) during warehouse operations

Shift & Schedule and most importantly, Pay:

• 1st Shift 6:00am-2:30pm
• Monday to Friday
• Competitive Pay starting at $19/hour

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36 – 42 per week
