Must be available to work 4a-4p and have experience in a food manufacturing facility.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Check the schedule and production order to ensure that all production materials are at the processing area and are verified prior to batching startup.
• Verify that all raw materials for processing are correct according to the scheduled production and the production work order. Item numbers on each ingredient must be verified from the production order and batch sheet. If numbers do not match stop and notify your immediate supervisor.
• Verify that plastic pallets being used are clean and not damaged. Report damaged pallets to your Supervisor.
• Verify the temperatures of all tempered ingredients. If temperatures are not within specifications, notify your immediate supervisor.
• Check all equipment in the specified processing room and verify that equipment is clean and in good working order. Go through each item on the Pre-Op Processing Check List Startup Check sheet and document actions for each category.
• Ensure the equipment is installed correctly and is operating properly. Ensure any speed control is working as specified on batching sheet.
• Ensure any required inline product screens are installed and are as specified and located where required by startup checklist.
• Ensure mag traps are installed as required (see pre-op startup checklist)
• Ensure that the Divert valve switch on the panel is set to AUTO if required and ensure the valve is set properly (open or closed).
• Production Batching scales must be calibrated with the 25 pound weight from the laboratory before pre-scaling of ingredients can begin, Gram scale must be calibrated by the QA line auditors before batching begins. Notify lab personnel if scale is out of calibration. Do not use any scale that is not in calibration.
• Make sure that the correct charts are in the chart recorders and that the pens are working properly and recording when product is diverting.
• Fill out batch sheet with the lot number information for each raw ingredient. Ensure all documentation is legible.
• Verify the batch size. Pre-scale all ingredients (as required) into clean plastic or stainless containers and place lids on top of each pre-scaled container. Using the peel and stick ingredient label, document all information requested for each pre-scaled ingredient and place on lid of container. Ensure all categories of label are documented correctly and are legible. Ensure each individual container has the specified weight of the ingredient in that container (may need more than one container for some ingredients).
• Ensure all ingredients are verified and documented as materials are being added to make kettle(s).
• Follow instructions on batching procedure sheet ensuring times and quantities added to make kettle(s) are accurate.
• Complete the batching process. Use spatula if needed to help remove product from buckets.
• Turn off sweep and agitation once batch is complete. Use a stainless steel ladle to remove the product and take sample to the lab for every batch for testing as required.
• Once approved by lab, continue per batch procedure.
• Once production has been completed, circulate water through machines and fill kettles with water for sanitation and initiate CIP.
• When running products that allow CIP separation (like Campbell’s) alert Sanitation so that they can change the pipe connections for the CIP separation.
• Do not fill kettles with water until the pipe connections have been changed.
• Fill out shut down Processing Check List-Shut down sheet and remove all materials out of the processing room.
• Other duties as assigned

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to lift, carry, and push/pull up to 55 pounds at a given time. Exposure to extreme heat and temperature change, noise and vibration, and dust and ventilation. The associate must be able to stand for extended periods of time as well as walk frequently. Bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and overhead reaching may are also required.
