The Fun Club of the Desert
As one of only three Country Clubs in the desert in the 1950s, Indian Wells Country Club's story is one of both prominence and entertainment. Set against Santa Rosa Mountains canyons, vistas and views, this oasis in the desert has been home to locals and celebrities alike - including Bob Hope, Desi Arnaz, George Goble, Chuck Connors, Arthur Lake, and Lawrence Welk to name a few - offering a quenching, community lifestyle with 36 holes of championship golf, impeccable dining, fitness, and even bocce ball. Set against the backdrop of the Santa Rosa Mountains, Indian Wells' two beautiful 18-hole courses offer delight for players at every level. Our storied Classic Course was the home of the Bob Hope Classic for more than 40 years and is steeped in history, playing host to celebrities and professional golfers alike. Our Cove Course features breathtaking canyons and panoramic views, with a playable design that beckons even the most experienced golfer.
The Classic Course
The Classic Course is the original course built in 1956 by founders Desi Arnaz, Paul Prom, Eddie Susalla, Linn Johnson, Earl Murphy, Milt Hicks, Bill Worthing and John Curci. In fact, founder Eddie Susalla actually designed the 6,478-yard, par 72, 18-hole course that boasts a 127 slope rating.
The Cove Course
Stretching 6,558 yards with a slope of 121, the par 72, 18-hole Cove Course was designed by Indian Wells Country Club founder, Eddie Susalla, and Ted Robinson Sr. The Cove Course was built several years after the Classic Course, but provides golfers with challenging shots and unique holes.
Job Summary
This position will assist in daily golf operations to include pro-shop and outside services, supervise all non-exempt golf, pro-shop and outside services staff drive revenue and programming efforts control assets promote the game of golf (including lessons and selling and managing tournaments).

Job Summary
This position will assist in daily golf operations to include pro-shop and outside services, supervise all non-exempt golf, pro-shop and outside services staff drive revenue and programming efforts control assets promote the game of golf (including lessons and selling and managing tournaments).
Day-to-Day
- Train and Implement Procedures for Golf and Pro Shop Attendants, and Outside Services Staff.
- Assign and develop work-efficient schedules to meet staffing needs of Golf Operations, Pro Shop, Outside Services, and Clubs repair business, and as warranted, recruit and hire staff to provide superior level of member services.
- Profit/Loss responsibility for merchandise in Pro Shop assist with budgeting plan and maintain inventory levels implement inventory control and counting procedures for staff to follow to ensure constantly stocked items establish standards for merchandise display, pricing, and promotions to be followed by golf shop attendants to encourage sales and address member orders.
- Effective communication with staff, members, and Senior Management.
- In the event of the Director of Golf/Head Golf Professionals absence, supervise and manage all aspects of Clubs Golf department.
- Be informed of and promote all Club activities and services, including selling and managing tournaments, and other special events (scheduling, directing, and utilizing staff to perform necessary functions to provide successful tournaments and special events).
- Direct and guide staff, according to Invited and PGA Standards to promote golf clinics, private lessons, and adult, junior and senior programs, and assist, as necessary, to ensure member satisfaction and that Club Standards are met. Also have the ability to teach and provide instruction.
About You
- PGA PGM Associate Program Level 3 or Member.
- College degree preferred, High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Customer service experience. Expanded Golf Knowledge.
- Proven track record of team management, organizational and coaching skills.
- Experience with tee sheets and inventory systems.
