Job Description

Primary Function: Roll Stock

Oversee efficient packaging of finished goods through operation and maintenance of the packaging machine.

Will be asked to operate various packaging machines to include: Klockners, Roll Stocks, Sealer, CVP, and “flip/flop”.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs all work in a safe manner; remain constantly aware of continuous improvement(s) for safety-related opportunities.
• Set-up and run machine according to daily production schedule while complying with all quality standards and specifications.
• Ensure line is stocked with proper materials and products
• Inspect package for proper seal, dating, film alignment and product quality
• Change parts such as duckbills and transfer clamps and set code daters correctly according to the production schedule
• Control the waste of packaging materials and products
• Operate machine to maintain proper seals, hole punch, zipper application, proper vacuum and accurate, legible coding of package
• Keep accurate daily paperwork and communicate any downtime over 15 minutes to supervisor and maintenance
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow GMP/HAACP procedures

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of packaging machines and/or mechanical aptitude
• Intermediate level communication skills
• Ability to delegate responsibilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot and quickly adapt to unexpected events
• Ability to neatly and accurately complete paperwork
• Flexibility to changeover on short notice (may do multiple c/o in a day)
• Ability to operate an electric pallet jack
• Ability to operate an oil sprayer
• Ability to safely use a ladder

Materials and Equipment:

• Klockner packaging machine, Ishida scale, electric pallet jack.
• Roll Stock Packaging Machines, CVP and “Flip/Flop.”
• Rolls of film, scavengers and zippers
• Production schedule, production reports
• Oil Sprayer
• Ladder

Work Environment:

• Stand on concrete
• Hot, cold, and wet environments
• Cramped quarters
• Work alone or with others
• Fumes or odors
• Loud (earplugs required)

• Able to withstand temperature extremes.
• Handling (holding, grasping)
• Wrist motion (repetitive, flexion, rotation)

• Personal hygiene
• Ability to lift 50lbs. in a repetitive manner
