Our client, a leader in the health insurance industry, has asked us to provide them with a super-strong Oracle DBA to help monitor the day-to-day activities of the company’s database systems.

THE WORK: The work includes:
Monitoring the day-to-day activities of production and non-production database systems
Space AdministrationTroubleshooting and performance tuning
Ensuring the smooth operation of company-wide data environments
LOCATION: This client is located near Lansing, Michigan. The chosen consultant will be required to work on-site at least two days/week.
MODE: This is a contract position, which could transition into a contract-to-hire arrangement.
DURATION: The chosen consultant will be required for at least 12 months. This client, also, has a history of extending strong players for multiple terms.
REQUIRED: Applicants must be very strong in the following skills:
5+ years of Oracle DBA experience supporting databases > 20TB
Strong SQL
Experience supporting Postgres on-prem and in the cloud
Proficiency with scripting languages such as BASH, KSH, PowerShell or Python
Strong experience with active data guard, RMAN, RAC, GDS
Experience supporting both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments
Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment
DESIRED: In addition, it would be great if you had some background in:
The insurance industry
Experience with MongoDB Atlas
Experience with backup and recovery tools such as Data Domain or Rubrik
COMPENSATION: $80-85/hr (1099 or C2C)
