190: Oracle DBA

Our client, a leader in the health insurance industry, has asked us to provide them with a super-strong Oracle DBA to help monitor the day-to-day activities of the company’s database systems.

THE WORK:  The work includes:

• Monitoring the day-to-day activities of production and non-production database systems
  Space Administration

• Troubleshooting and performance tuning

• Ensuring the smooth operation of company-wide data environments

LOCATION: This client is located near Lansing, Michigan. The chosen consultant will be required to work on-site at least two days/week.

MODE: This is a contract position, which could transition into a contract-to-hire arrangement. 

DURATION: The chosen consultant will be required for at least 12 months. This client, also, has a history of extending strong players for multiple terms.   

REQUIRED: Applicants must be very strong in the following skills: 

• 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience supporting databases > 20TB

• Strong SQL

• Experience supporting Postgres on-prem and in the cloud

• Proficiency with scripting languages such as BASH, KSH, PowerShell or Python

• Strong experience with active data guard, RMAN, RAC, GDS

• Experience supporting both OLTP and Data Warehouse environments

• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment

DESIRED: In addition, it would be great if you had some background in: 

• The insurance industry

• Experience with MongoDB Atlas

• Experience with backup and recovery tools such as Data Domain or Rubrik

COMPENSATION: $80-85/hr (1099 or C2C)
