  • Candidate MUST LIVE IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA! You must be able to drive to all training sessions, practices, games & tournaments. If you live out of state or out of the country, please do NOT apply!

Overview:

We are looking for BASEBALL OR SOFTBALL players who can teach effectively by educating and demonstrating, who can motivate players to want to work hard not only at practice and games but on their own in training while on their off days. Hard work pays off. We are a huge proponent of women in baseball as well as girls baseball players.
Qualifications:
  • Mandatory - Some college-level playing experience.
  • Mandatory - experience in some or all of the following: baseball team coaching; instruction; teaching; clinics; camps
  • Our coaches are teachers first. In our organization Coaching & Teaching are the same thing. They are not separate.
  • Calm teaching approach who can push players in a way that they respond. Yet at the same time have the wherewithal to treat players as individual.
  • Willingness to learn from the owner & Director of Operations.
  • Head Coach must have the ability to delegate and assign tasks to others coaches, while still being in charge and handling all Head Coach responsibilities.
  • Passion and desire for the game and a willingness to give back.
  • Coaches must be a Prescence on the field both in practice & the games. In other words, being fully aware of what is going on at every moment of the game and giving instruction and encouragement.
  • The ability to create and run practices effectively, teaching all facets of the game on both defense & offense.
  • Coaches must live local to be able to travel to facilities, practice fields, games, and tournaments. If you are out of state or out of the country, please do not apply.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Recruiting players. (for all teams)
  • Teaching players in an effective manner in every facet of the game.
  • Attend & lead all tryouts, winter training practices (schedule is preset) & in-season practices
  • Attend and coach all travel tournaments whether in or out of state.
  • Assist staff in finding tournaments that fit your team. The final decision is made by the Direcor of Operations Coach Brian Connerty & the owner Coach Pete - Owner.
  • Create league playing schedule (14U and down). Includes connecting directly with leagues, park districts, official finders (umpires), other teams, etc.
  • Plan out all outdoor practices in advance using gamechanger at least 2 weeks out.
  • Off-season training is led by instructors from the National School of Baseball & Softball, however, attendance by all Coaches is 100% mandatory. Instructors teach pitching, hitting & catcher position in a specific way and we do not want any of that changed. Coaches MUST learn from the instructors. They must come out of the winter training with solid knowledge to be able to help a player when they are struggling by tweaking mechanics.
  • Coaches must always be teaching & learning.
  • Coaches must fit our culture "Improvement, Development, Growth & Welfare of our players is our Number 1 priority".
  • Making effective lineups with plans for in game changes before they happen.
  • Be prepared well before the start of the game and a knack for being able to change on the fly.

Our coaches are held to a very high standard of teaching the game. Winning, although certainly the objective, is not the most important goal. We want each player to get better every day. We want them to be able to actualize their full potential. We want to get them to the next level before the next level comes.
We strive for great team chemistry, camaraderie & unity. The Coaches must lead by example and come up with ways to bring the team together.
Our player's goals are our goals. If we do not get them to achieve their goals, then we failed.
We have several zero-tolerance policies that are in a contract that must be signed. Some of those are not yelling, screaming, demeaning, or degrading a player. No physical exercise as a punishment. Physical activities such as running, or some exercises as a team, that is part of the planned practices are fine. But, this must be approved by the Director of Operations. There will be No favoritism. Mandatory to follow our pitch count guidelines and manage a pitching staff effectively, so as no one or two pitchers carry the brunt of the pitching. No screaming or arguing with opposing coaches or umpires. Do not question umpires on balls & strikes. Protect players at all costs. Teaching and demonstrating Sportsmanship at all times.
Again the coach must be local to be able to travel to the facility, practice fields, games, and tournaments.
There will be a two interview process via face to face or zoom.
In your resume please include all of your baseball or softball experience including: playing career (how long & to what level), coaching & instruction experience as well as any clinics or camps you helped run.
We encourage woman / softball or even baseball players to apply. Our organization is a huge advocate for women in baseball both as coaches & players.
