Job description

Major Responsibilities: In addition to working safely, the employee must also be able to:

  • Operate, install, maintain and repair all plant refrigeration.
  • Install, maintain and repair all electrical wiring, motors and allied equipment, and have ability to repair and maintain the plant's electrical system from the main switchgear to the motor. Have advanced knowledge of AC motor controls.
  • Operate, install, maintain and repair steam plant equipment.
  • Perform welding and torch cutting as required.
  • Maintain and repair all equipment and machinery used in the processing plant, and have the ability to organize and complete any renovation or installation of plant equipment.
  • Read and use blueprints and schematic diagrams as directed.
  • Have the ability to disassemble, repair, and completely rebuild automated equipment. Have the ability to maintain acceptable performance from automated equipment.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor and superintendent.
  • Capable of being able to participate on company Emergency Response Team, including passing physical and obtain skills and training necessary to be qualified as an Emergency Response Technician and Incident Commander including but not limited to being clean shaven with no facial hair that could interfere with a respirator.

Position Requirements: In addition to meeting the basic qualifications for new employees, the employee must also meet the following requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have the ability to work in emergency situations under adverse conditions.
  • Must have a working knowledge of electronics, and be able to repair, maintain and program computer operated equipment.
  • Must have the ability to train others.
  • Must have ability to work long hours and willingness to work various shifts.
  • Must have the ability to operate a shift in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial manufacturing or processing maintenance.
  • Technical school experience will qualify for up to 2 years' experience from an accredited technical school.
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures (hot and cold).
  • Must be able to work in wet/humid conditions.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work in an area that requires hearing protection.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, twist, reach and lift heavy objects up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder.
  • Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment at all times.
  • May be required to work Holidays and weekends.
