Builds strong connections within the community and assists in the management of a number of gardening project activities throughout all districts.
Responsibilities
- Performs growing and maintenance tasks for all garden areas including activities such as irrigation, weeding, harvesting, and coordinating operational hours.
- Assists Manager in developing community garden protocols, procedures, activity schedules, signage, volunteer recruitment, project budget tracking and various other tasks.
- Plans, conducts, and evaluates community garden events for the planting and harvest seasons throughout the year.
- Facilitates required educational workshops throughout the year.
- Ensures that all garden space is fully utilized.
- Assists in the development and execution of the annual operating plan for the community garden project
- Works with Public Relations on advertisement and recruitment of volunteers for garden service operations.
- Maintains documentation of overall garden operational activities and communications.
- Performs other job-related activities as requested.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of gardening experience preferred.
- Gila River Indian Community Member required.
- State of Arizona driver's license with no significant violations during the last 5 years.
- Demonstrates ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically the Gila River Community and/or other Native American cultures and community health services.
