Salary: Depends on education and licensure

Youth Therapist (Rural) - 10 month position


Position follows the school calendar (August -  May)


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree in Social Work or Counseling and a North Dakota (ND) license as a LMSW or LAPC/LPC. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, have access to personal transportation and be willing to travel to and from schools in rural communities.  A ND clinical license as a LCSW or LPCC is preferred. Experience working with children and victims of violence preferred.

 

COMPENSATION: Salary range for LMSW or LAPC/LPC is $44,694-$74,490.  Clinical license (LCSW or LPCC) salary range is $50,606 - $84,344.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Individual and Group Therapy

  • Provide ongoing individual therapy services for youth who have experienced family violence, dating violence, sexual violence, bullying and/or stalking in person at rural schools and outreach sites. May at times provide therapy services at CVIC office.
  • Follow up with non-abusing caregiver(s) whose children may be candidates for services in order to coordinate and ensure consent for services.
  • Facilitate trauma-informed groups at rural schools as needed for youth who have experienced trauma related to violence.

 

Individual Advocacy and Referrals

  • Become knowledgeable of other related agencies and services and provide youth, and their families, with appropriate referral information and support in accessing safety net services.
  • Provide individual advocacy for youth who have experienced violence, as needed.
  • Provide information and parenting support to non-abusing caregivers whose youth have experienced violence.
  • Collaborate with rural and city partner agencies to assist with referrals to our services and provide information on accessing therapy and other services at CVIC.

 

Record Keeping

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records of all contacts with youth clients, non-abusing caregiver(s), and other agencies according to established procedures.
  • Distribute and collect surveys from youth participating in individual and group therapy, and their caregivers as appropriate, according to established procedures.

 

Collaboration

  • Participate on agency and community committees as assigned.
  • Collaborate with rural schools in setting up individual and group services for youth at the schools, providing education and support to non-abusing caregiver(s) and staff as needed.
  • Provide support at prevention and education presentations to youth in rural schools as needed.

 

Public Education

  • Provide presentations and education to the public and professionals in rural areas, including training on dynamics of violence, trauma informed care and training on delivering services to youth in rural areas.
