Pivot Point Center for Youth (PPCY) provides Short-Term Residential Treatment to girls (ages 12 to 18) with various challenges including maladaptive behavior patterns, moderate mental health disorders, emotional or behavioral disturbances; whom may have a history of trauma, substance use disorders, long-term involvement within Clark County’s Department of Juvenile Justice Services, and/or the Department of Family Services. Our team dedicates consistent efforts and sincere passion towards providing quality treatment, education, 24-hour supervision, skill sets and services conducive to self-sufficiency, and a reliable, predictable, home-like setting designed to foster peace. We are seeking Full-Time Youth Support Workersto join our efforts as we collectively work towards lasting change in the lives of community adolescence.
Overnight Schedule: (Each shift requires an hour break).
Shift A:Sunday – Tuesday, 8pm – 9am, Wednesday, 8pm – 3am; Off on Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
Shift B:Wednesday-Saturday, Wednesday, 2am – 9am, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 8pm – 9am; Off on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
What you'll do:
- Provide safety, around-the-clock supervision, observation, and support while following and the daily schedule.
- Establish an atmosphere that is supportive of the needs of the clients.
- Conducts physical count of students within the living area and records it on a check sheet as required by site operations (every 5, 10, 15, etc. minutes); condensing the time according to status of youth.
- Sees to cleanliness of the facility, laundry preparation, documentation of pertinent information and other daily assignments as prepared by their supervisor.
- Monitor and document client behaviors and activities.
- Participate and assist with educational, social, and recreational activities.
- Occasionally transport youth in company vehicles, supervise and aid with meal preparation/service, and assist during school hours.
- Communicate with team, Program Manager and Program Director any considerable concerns and changes in behavior, emotions, mentality, academic progress, and overall demeanor to ensure the treatment plan is adjusted to meet the youth's success.
To be considered, you should:
- Be empathetic, patient, consistent, compassionate, an honest work ethic, and treat others with respect.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience or familiarity with youth who have a history of interpersonal violence and/or sexual trauma, or various forms of other traumas; teens having been in/on probation, involvement with the Department of Juvenile Justice and/or the Department of Family Services is preferable.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must possess a current State Driver's License and have an acceptable driving record for the past (3) years.
- Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
