About This Role:
- Assisting patrons of all ages with information and circulation inquiries.
- Providing Readers’ Advisory and technology assistance.
- Creating displays and promotional materials in support of the branch’s Youth Services programming.
- Maintaining the library’s physical collection of Children’s and Young Adult items.
- Assisting with, planning, and conducting library programs for children and young adults.
- Representing Prince William Public Libraries at outreach events.
Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in library or information science.
Preferences:
- Experience providing programs to children and presenting story times.
- Experience of ILS systems, digital resources, and reader’s advisory tools.
- Experience assisting patrons with computers, printers, copiers, scanners, and e-readers.
- Experience with engaging the community through outreach.
- Experience with collaboration and team building skills.
- Excellent customer service skills to aid diverse populations.
The position may require travel to other branches within the system. A DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on County business.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, EXEMPT 37.5 hours per week position. The schedule includes days, one evening a week and rotating weekends. Scheduling flexibility is imperative. Schedule may vary depending upon the needs of the library.
Starting Salary Range:
$64,311 - $77,480.75
