Bonus: $4,000 - $2,000 paid after 3 months and $2,000 paid after 6 months
Schedule: Flexible schedule- three days a week- either 8 or 10 hour days (24 - 30 hours/week)
Job Summary:
The Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention (YMCI) Clinician provides direct services to youth and adolescents in crisis including assessing each youth and family's needs for services and develops a treatment plan that best ensures their safety and optimizes their effective resolution of the crisis. They facilitate the person's engagement or re-engagement in Children's Behavioral Health Services (CBHI) through referral to community based services that are consonant with the person's needs and preferences, emphasizing Family Voice and Choice as it relates to CBHI principles. The Clinician works as part of the Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) that provides on site assessment and support, as well as mobile capacity to conduct assessments at the person's home, school, or agency in Greater Boston. They work as a partner in an integrated urgent care/emergency support services network. Given the nature of crisis services, provision of holiday and weekend coverage are expectations for staff working in this position.
Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Provides services in a manner that is consonant with program, Bay Cove, and collaborative agencies' standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Completes assessments of adults who are in crisis in a comprehensive manner attending to their safety and needs.
  • Develops treatment plans with and for the person in crisis that utilize community based health, behavioral health, and social services that will ameliorate the presenting crisis.
  • Works with the person in crisis and their support network to fortify their strengths and coping skills to engagement or reengagement in needed services.
  • Documents all assessments and interventions in accordance with program and Bay Cove standards and secure, as needed, financial and insurance related information to facilitate billing and payment for services rendered.
  • Facilitates admission to acute inpatient care on an as needed basis and provide brief treatment and support until requisite community services can be accessed in order to minimize reliance on acute inpatient services.

Job Requirements:
  • Independent Licensed Clinician preferred (LICSW, LMHC) with a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a mental health setting. Minimum requirement is a Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling or a related field.
  • Demonstrated assessment and treatment skills in the provision of emergency services for adults including ability to de-escalate crises in a manner that ensures safety for all involved and provides for the best care and welfare of the person in crisis. Demonstrated knowledge of risk assessment specific to acute psychiatric conditions for adults, knowledge of varying social and behavioral health services and the nature of the treatment, rehabilitation, and support that they offer. Can determine the person's needs for services, refer to the appropriate resource(s), and facilitate the person's engagement in these services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the evaluation process, including presenting problems, social, family, psychiatric, legal, and medical history. Capacity to effectively assess mental status, formulate a plan, and develop and implement an appropriate disposition for all clients.
  • Demonstrated professional documentation skills, a high degree of personal organization, attention to detail, professional writing and verbal communication and time management skills.
