The Youth Ministries Director will function as part of the Cleveland Temple Ministry Team. They will invest themselves in the lives of young people and their families developing and maintaing relational ministry opportunities:
- To conduct an ongoing and aggressive evangelical ministry with the specific purpose of introducing children and their families to Jesus Christ.
- To provide an environment and ministry opportunities in which children, teens and young adults can grow and mature in their faith and grow into a walk of Holiness.
A successful candidate is expected to develop and implement an intentional and intensive family ministry, striving to reach families in the community and bringing them to church. Create and maintain programs to enhance healthy spiritual formation, physical and emotional development and discipleship of children and families. The qualified candidate will disseminate information regarding community resources to children, teens, young adults and families. The Youth Ministry Director will work closely with the Corps/Church, Learning Center, Kid’s Café and Recreation Center and build relationships with the families involved in the programs.
The Youth Ministries Coordinator should strive to uphold a solid Christian influence. The qualified candidate will organize events, plan, and implement all Youth Ministries including, athletic and recreational activities, VBS, devotions and prayer, bible studies. Candidate will also be required to attend all youth corps, divisional and territorial event and retreats.
The position is responsible for but not limited to:
- Carrying out the spiritual and overall mission of The Salvation Army
- Spiritual formation
- Relationship building
- Bringing families into the church
- Youth recreational activities and other events
- Gathering and disseminating resource information
- Preferred Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working with children and families
- Solid and mature Salvationist preferred
- Must have a valid Ohio Drivers License and be able to drive for The Salvation Army
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and appropriate intervention skills required.
- Strong knowledge of available resources required.
- Must possess initiative, sound judgement, and be passionate about the Mission of The Salvation Army and the Vision of the Cleveland Temple Corps.
