- be on-site Sunday afternoon and evenings
- collaborate with current Youth Ministers in our parish, as well as Youth Ministers in the area, to grow our Collaborative Youth Ministry program
- lead and organize effective youth programs that will attract, retain and empower students in grades 7 – 12 including incorporating archdiocesan sponsored events and programs
- Arranges leadership training and experiences for youth of the Collaborative
- integrate the youth of St. John’s and St. Paul’s into the weekly Youth Mass at 5:00 pm on Sundays
- coordinate and further develop the Collaborative Middle School Religious Education program
- coordinate the Confirmation Preparation Religious Education program utilizing the Dynamic Catholic Decision Point curriculum
- Recruit, train and support Religious Education teachers
- provide periodic retreat opportunities
- communicate and work with parents, students and staff to identify worthwhile service, social and community-building activities
- provide counseling and spiritual direction to youth on an individual basis
- work independently and/or with the Religious Ed and pastoral teams at St. John’s and St. Paul’s to enhance the spiritual experience of our middle and high school students
- recruit and sustain a group of adult volunteers to serve as chaperones and assistants for parish events
- communicate with parents and students in the method most effective for each constituency including utilizing social and electronic media
- Works with parish communications department to market and communicate youth events and activities
- Degree in Theology, Pastoral Ministry, Education or related field (or working towards one) preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven leadership ability
- Enthusiastic and energetic attitude
We are looking for a self-motivated adult to coordinate Youth Ministry and Faith Formation for middle and high school students in the St. John St. Paul Collaborative in Wellesley, MA. The role of Coordinator of Youth Ministry and Faith Formation can be structured in a variety of ways and we are open to candidates who are looking for a part-time or full-time role that can include, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
