Overview
We seek a dedicated and compassionate Youth Mentor/Guide to join our team in the spring. As a Youth Mentor/Guide, you will have the opportunity to impact the lives of children through an innovative approach that fuses trauma-informed care, education, and entertainment.

Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to youth in various settings, including schools, community centers, and apartment complexes/ However, the base positions provide support and lead our afterschool programs.
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on each child's needs using an innovative and flexible curriculum.
- Foster positive relationships with youth and serve as a role model through everyday representation and lived experience.
- Teach life skills such as conflict management, communication, and problem-solving
-Collaborate with other professionals, such as teachers, site coordinators, and administrative staff, at Day One Tech.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians and other relevant parties
- Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions, participant progress, and feedback conversations.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an afterschool program or otherwise. Experience is preferred but not required. We will train.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and lived experience working with community members from disadvantaged communities.
- Strong social skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with youth
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage conflicts, diffuse challenging situations, and understand classroom behavioral management.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules of Day One Tech; Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs and schedules of partner organizations and entities.
