Schedule:Sun-Thu 3pm-11pm
Salary:$20.00 / hour
Sign on bonus:$1500; $500 upon completion of 30 days, $500 upon completion of 6 months, $500 upon completion of 9 months
The YCCS Mental Health Counselor will provide direct service to youth who havebehavioral health symptoms, Mental Health, substance use or co-occurring disorders behavial health in a Youth Community Crisis Stabilization (YCCS) Program. The YCCS Mental Health Counselor will helpprepare youth returning to the community to engage in a recovery process and to communicate their strengths, hopes, dreams and goals to the team.
The YCCS Program is designed to provide a staff-secure, safe, and structured crisis stabilization and treatment environment for youth ages 13-18 who require 24-hour per day care in an unlocked treatment setting in a community-based program. The YCCS Program serves as a medically necessary, less-restrictive, and voluntary alternative to inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
The YCCS Mental Health Counselor's also:
  • Implements individual's treatment plan.
  • Assists with intake and orientation procedures with youth and their families or identified supports.
  • Ensures an environment that promotes safety, recovery and treatment.
  • Assists clients in routine living activities including cleaning, meal preparation, vacuuming, and grocery shopping.
  • Uses crisis intervention techniques when necessary. Access on-call back up when needed.
  • Performs other duities as assigned.

Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One to two years of job-specific experience in the human services field preferred. Preference given to bi-lingual/bi-cultural applicants and applicants with lived experience of psychiatric conditions.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions.
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity.
  • Must be able to become CPR and First Aid required within two weeks of hire. Must be able to complete all additional trainings within defined time frame
  • A valid driver's license must be presented at the time of employment. Must be at least 21 years of age, have maintained a valid US driver's license for at least one year.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a CORI, SORI, education check, employment verification and driver's screen background check.
