Job Description
WCPC is currently searching for a Youth Engagement Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate is energetic, self-motivated, passionate about substance use prevention, and excited to empower youth and the community to make healthy decisions. We seek a dedicated individual who can connect the big picture to daily work and communicate effectively with various organization partners and participants. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work toward positive change that will impact the community's policies and systems surrounding health.
Duties:
● Creates and carries out youth programming and increase youth involvement in the coalition's youth coalitions
● Work with Director and grantor to implement strategies to meet set objectives.
● Provide support services and coordination of all program activities.
● Create and submit quarterly progress reports.
● Maintain database to track all grant-related outputs and outcomes.
● Attend required grantee trainings and meetings.
● Coordinate prevention efforts.
● Plan and implement special events relevant to grant objectives.
● Prepare and effectively deliver public speaking events and training events.
● Track program efforts to ensure project goals, objectives, and activities are being successfully completed.
● Engages in networking efforts with local, regional and statewide organizations to strengthen WCPC efforts (i.e., SADD, TN PAC, PAT, CADCA, MBA etc.)
● Other duties as assigned by Director.
Qualifications
● Strong initiative and sense of collaboration.
● Experience and excited by working with youth, especially ages 11-17, in a non-academic setting, such as a recreation or experiential learning environment.
● Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, G Suite, Dropbox, Canva, and social media platforms
● Must be proficient with written and spoken communication.
● Must be skilled public speaker with ability to engage an audience on a variety of topics.
● Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license.
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
● Candidates must pass a background check and a drug screen.
● Knowledge of substance abuse prevention preferred.
● Ability to attend meetings and related functions after normal working hours and to participate in meetings/trainings requiring multiple overnight stays throughout the year.
