Starting salary will be $15 per hour

Summary/Primary Purpose: Plans, implements, supervises members and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, supporting the Boys Girls Club priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship. Builds and maintains a professional relationship with all Club members and their families in order to help advance the mission of The Salvation Army.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Creates an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
  • Promotes and stimulates programparticipation and assists withregistrationofnew members and participates in their club orientationprocess.
  • Provides guidance and role modeling to members.
  • Implements and administers programs, services and activities for Club members in an effective manner.
  • May oversee special programs and services such as Youth of Year programs or Youth of the Month.
  • Monitors and evaluates programs, services, and activities to ensure safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the branch always.
  • Prepare periodic activity reports as directed.
  • Assists with implementation of outreach efforts to sustain and increase program membership and program participation.
  • Assists in maintaining facility and equipment in good working order as well as ensuring all storage areas are kept orderly and clean.
  • As needed, reports all repairs, maintenance, and janitorial needs to supervisor.
  • This position may participate in special programs and/or events as directed.
  • May be required to drive Club vehicle.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Youth Development Professionals
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED required.Previous work in related field with Children and Youth preferred.
Additional Information
Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.
  • Ability to be flexible and able to work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft software to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. As well as the ability to access payroll, timekeeping and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Administrative skills to include utilization of standard office equipment, data entry, 10-key,
  • Good attention to details and filing.
  • Good communication skills both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters.

Other Qualifications:
  • Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver's license from the state in which you reside. Must be approved through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
  • Must successfully complete Safe from Harm training within 90 days of hire, as established by The Salvation Army.
  • A commitment to actively participate in a Professional Development Plan including Level II Level III Training which includes completion of 20 Credit Hours of Boys Girls Club of America Spillett Training

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Basic First Aid and CPR Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe) and Tier 2 Boys and Girls Club of America Trainer Certification or ability to obtain

Working Conditions: The work environment is a business office setting with office equipment, light traffic and moderate noise levels.
