Essential Duties
Summary: The Mentoring Coordinator is responsible for the Program’s success, enrollment of students, recruitment of mentors, serves as a liaison between mentees, families and partners. Oversee the after school program and must be available Monday - Thursday: 3:30pm - 6:30pm
- Assists with onboarding, ongoing support, supervision and evaluation of Mentors.
- Recruits Mentors who have a commitment to positive youth development.
- Responsible for the recruitment and retention of youth.
- Schedules weekly meetings, excursions, service projects and special events as indicated by youth interests to ensure youth choice and voice.
- Periodically reassesses youths' interest through focus groups, surveys and evaluations.
- Elevates the interests of the youth and applies that to the Mentoring program design.
- Facilitates leadership sessions and participates in monthly service learning projects.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with service organizations to arrange meaningful community partnerships.
- Attends Cultivating Youth trainings and events as indicated for the Mentoring contract.
- Ensures that registration packets are complete and track attendance regularly.
- Submits monthly reports to Cultivating Youth to keep them abreast of program and youth progress/milestones.
- Integrates learning activities in every session and after every service project.
- Ensures that mentors, tutors, trainers and partners are actively engaged with youth and that they adhere to set schedules and curricula.
- Adheres to the Mentoring program’s mission, goals and guiding principles in the facilitation, design and planning of projects.
- Seeks direction and support as necessary from supervision and colleagues.
- Maintains positive relationships and interactions with parents to discuss their child’s performance and well-being.
Requirements
- Two or more years working in a social service setting that provides youth programming.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to organize and maintain detailed records, complete necessary paperwork and meet deadlines.
- Must be able to communicate well verbally and in writing.
- Must demonstrate adaptability to meeting changing priorities and deadlines.
- Must be available Monday - Thursday: 3:30pm - 6:30pm
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.29 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 12 per week
