Job Summary:
The student will assist in program delivery and capacity building during the Spring and Summer with project partners on campus and in Indianapolis. Responsibilities will include coordinating and managing the content related speakers for the summer youth program, assist in development and production of teaching materials for youth to align with the sustainable agriculture and entrepreneurship focus of the grant project. The student will assist with data collection alongside the graduate student on the team. This person is expected to travel to Indianapolis as needed during the term of employment, and this travel is flexible during the spring semester, but required mid-June through late July. Hours are flexible during academic sessions. Will work independently remote, in person, on campus, and in person in Indianapolis. Possibility for employment beyond summer 2024 if desired.
Required Qualifications:
Student should have experience working with youth audiences, ability to work independently and problem solve to meet deadlines and deliver expectations of the project. Familiarity with agriculture and teaching concepts is preferred. Must be able to work in a team, in person and remotely. Summer hours in June and July are required.
Must have a valid driver’s license and meet qualifications to drive a University vehicle.

- Students will be able to hear, listen and observe verbal and nonverbal cues to promote understanding and learning. Students will need to evaluate content and develop teaching activities for a youth program both in written and verbal formats.
Student will be able to employ critical, practical and creative thinking skills, identify solutions and implementation of decisions. Will need to work independently, assess materials and situation, and be able to navigate work as a team to meet a desired solution.
Will be working in a diversified youth program, so skills and abilities to understand diverse perspectives and needs are necessary.
Student will need to take initiative to meet goals and deadlines, be able to think independently and problem solve on the go.
