Youth Art Instructor - Summer Camps

The Eagan Art House is seeking a visual Art Instructor for youth and teen Summer Camps and community outreach. The instructor will deliver pre-planned curriculum in a variety of mediums to students ages 6 to 14. Mediums include, but are not limited to painting, drawing, and multi-media.
This is a seasonal position with variable hours including daytime, evenings, and weekends, up to 30 hours per week. Summer camps run for 10 weeks beginning June 17th. Camps are half day or full day depending on schedules.
The Eagan Art House team is highly collaborative and committed to engagement for all ages throughout the community.

Essential Position Functions
- Enthusiastically engage students in the process of art creation
- Implement visual art curriculum for youth ages 6 - 14
- Demonstrate knowledge of painting, drawing and multi-media mediums
- Demonstrate knowledge of a variety of artists, artwork styles and art history
- Promote inclusivity and diversity in a community setting
- Set up and clean up activity spaces
- Plan and request supplies and support materials as needed
Position Expectations:
- Adapt curriculum to student's needs and skill level
- Be flexible in a variety of settings
- Effectively communicate with children and adults
- Work independently and with a team
- Understand the role of the arts in community setting
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of experience teaching visual art to youth in a classroom or workshop setting
- Valid driver's license
- Must be available some weekends and evenings
You may be a good fit for this position if you have:
- Experience developing lesson plans independently
- Degree or coursework leading to a degree in art or art education or equivalent experience in art or art education
- Experience actively creating art in one or more medium
- Fluency in a non-English language
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to sit, stand, talk, write, hear. Occasionally required to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally must climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, run, walk. Adequate vision to perform the essential functions of the job
