Main Objective
The Youth and Children's Pastor is responsible for developing and shepherding a comprehensive Youth and children’s ministry that assists the Worthville Baptist Church in accomplishing its Mission.
Personal Qualifications
- Born again believer of Jesus Christ who has been baptized by immersion.
- Led by God to minister to Youth and children.
- Meets biblical requirements for overseer in Titus 1 and 1 Timothy 3.
- Will live in the local area and become a member of Worthville Baptist Church.
- Believes in and agrees with the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000.
Specific Responsibilities for Youth
- Lead and equip a team of youth ministry volunteers(which includes the youth committee) to carry out ministry to youth.
- Lead in planning and conducting special age group activities and programs appropriate for the spiritual growth of the youth.
- Establish regular communication with youth, parents, and the Church body.
- Establish a regular youth meeting time to provide Bible study opportunities, activities, and fellowship.
- Involve youth in serving in different areas of the church and community.
- Oversee Church camp and mission outings through coordination of planning trips, fundraising, and leading groups at the camp.
- With the assistance of the youth committee and Pastor, establish a youth calendar of events.
- Maintain a noticeable presence in the community and schools through attending sporting events, school programs, etc…
- Be available to provide guidance to youth, leaders, and parents when needed or by appointment while knowing when to refer counseling issues to a professional counselor.
- Develop a referral partnership with counseling professionals.
- Teach the youth Sunday School class.
Specific Responsibilities for Children
- Lead and equip a team of children's ministry volunteers(which includes the children’s committee) to carry out ministry to children.
- With the assistance of the children’s committee and Pastor, establish a children’s calendar of events.
Children’s areas of oversight:
- Children’s activities.
- All aspects of VBS and assist the VBS director to carry out planning the details of recruiting, scheduling and training of volunteers.
- Children’s church to ensure its success.
- Wednesday night Kids For Christ Ministry, evaluate the needs of the program, recruit and train volunteers.
Accountability
- Work under the direct supervision of the Pastor.
- Attend and participate in all church services and activities.
- Undergo an annual evaluation by the pastor, with input from the Youth and children’s committee and Deacons.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
