Location: Sherman Avenue Corps - Washington, D.C.
Position Type: Regular Full-Time/Hourly
Pay Range: $17.25 - $21.56/Hour
About this opportunity:
This position is responsible for overseeing the Youth Activities Coordinator/Corps Helper assists with functions and duties of Corps Youth Activities and programs. He/she assists with general Corps programming; prepares statistical reports, assists with Sunday School, Community Care Ministry, and other Corps programs. The incumbent coordinates and participates in outreach efforts and programs to assist individuals in the community to include providing and/or arranging for participant transportation to Corps sponsored services, events, and activities. He/she plans, develops, schedules, coordinates, facilitates, and monitors a variety of recreational activities, events, and trips to meet the needs and interests of the Corps programs.

  • Valid Driver's License and must meet TSA MVR Requirements.
  • Bon-a-fide Occupational Qualification: This position requires that the incumbent practices the Christian faith.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in a combination of office and field settings (in and outdoors) with exposure to outdoor temperatures and driving a vehicle in moderate to heavy traffic. Significant driving may be required in this position and as a result there may be exposure to hazardous road conditions. Duties are usually performed by a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and/or driving a vehicle. Duties may also require ability to lead and participate in recreational and/or athletic/sports programs.
  • Work requires the ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull moderately heavy (25-50 lbs.) materials, supplies and equipment. Required to grasp objects, push, and pull objects, bend, stand, walk, squat, or kneel. Moderate to high mobility; duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
