Full Job Description
Lifeguards are responsible for ensuring the safety of the facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies as well as enforcing all facility rules and regulations.
Days/Hours Available: early AM, daytime, afternoon, evening, weekdays, weekend
Experience/Education/Certification Requirements:
- Must have the ability to pass the Red Cross Lifeguard Pre-Test (For Pool)
- Must enforce policies, rules and regulations of the Aquatic Center.
- Must wear uniform, whistle, tube and appropriate rescue equipment while on duty
- Must be able to position yourself to view the entire pool area easily. Pool must be scanned every 10 seconds and you must be able to respond to an emergency within 10 seconds.
- Responsible for rescue and emergency care of any accident victim in or around the pool
- Responsible for all shifts assigned.
- Required to attend all in-service trainings.
- Respond to patrons as appropriate or redirect them to a supervisor/manager.
- Must inspect the Aquatic Center and report any unsafe conditions to aquatic management staff.
- Must complete all assigned daily records and Incident/Accident reports.
- Maintain confident command of the emergency action plans.
- Report to work on time as scheduled and remain on duty until relieved by another certified lifeguard.
- Complete additional duties as assigned.
- Report any suspected child abuse to a supervisor or aquatic management staff.
Must have basic computer skills, including the ability to respond to email. Must be able to complete online testing, when required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
