Position: Utility Yard Assistant
Status: Part Time
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Report to Dispatch Supervisor
- Supports Muni and Commercial chassis movement on our property or around town.
- Oversee the Yard Carn Area for all chassis check-in.
- Be on call for TE operations to bring chassis to build bay to start a upfitting of the chassis.
- Line up trucks for delivery after QC.
- Yard walks in the areas you manage to pick-up garbage and keep area looking professional.
- Record and report any damage on incoming chassis
- Obey all speed limit signs in and outside of yard
- Able to use I Pad or camera to record any damage on incoming vehicles.
- Help incoming drivers with taxi or ride info to get to airports or bus stations
- Organize and manage on-site chassis locations & keys
Qualification and Skills:
- Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to work from various squatting, kneeling, or bending positions.
- Ability to understand and operate all safety equipment in the area.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
- Knowledge of basic math as well as compute rates, ratio and precents.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
