Yard Foreman

Summary:

As the Yard Foreman, you will need to be an organized, self-motivated, fast paced, and highly driven individual. The ideal candidate should be motivated to bring about change, possess leadership skills and be aggressive in setting and accomplishing goals. You also need the ability to think outside of the box to meet the critical needs of the company and strive to deliver unmatched, quality product to our customers.

Responsibilities:

· Always wear proper PPE.

· Instruct employees in departmental safety and job specific procedures.

· Work closely with Plant Management to assure adherence to schedules, efficient use of personnel skills, yard machinery, and other resources.

· Work closely with other departments to ensure material pulling is in accordance with needs.

· Lead and manage your team effectively while motivating your team to succeed in a positive manner.

· Take responsibility for both the success and failure of your team.

· Commitment to your team by embracing professional development, passion, perseverance, and prioritization to meet the needs of the company.

· Read and understand general blueprints.

· Knowledge of machinery, vehicles, and material handling.

· Knowledge of industrial equipment operations and the general maintenance knowledge of such equipment.

· Work closely with Maintenance in support of a preventative maintenance schedule.

· Inspect material for damages and/or quality concerns.

· Work with Transportation department to support shipping of production materials and receiving materials.

· Consistently communicate and coordinate with Machine departments to ensure materials are being pulled in order of schedule need.

· Efficiently track all material through overseeing and organizing material across Yard.

· Manage and keep up with material inventory.

· Work with Inventory Control to coordinate accurate material handling.

· Guide and direct subordinates in support of schedule need.

· Monitor scraping materials.

· Keep up with trackers to monitor work progress.

· Communicate with management when there are any issues noted.

· Any other special tasking as directed by management.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s or Associates degree preferred but not required.

· Knowledge in how to take measurements with different devices.

· Attention to detail.

· Organizational skills.

· The ability to work a flexible schedule.

· Experience with Microsoft Office.

· Experience with building loads on trailers safely and neatly.

· Experience with groundwork.

· Experience with Heavy Machinery.

· Experience with Structural Steel or similar industrial environment.

· Experience using overhead cranes.
