Position: Dog Daycare Yard Attendant

Camp Run-A-Mutt is a cage free daycare and boarding facility. Our top priority is to create a fun, safe environment for our pups, which makes the position of a Yard Attendant invaluable. The purpose of this role is to not only closely monitor the individual dogs, but also supervise their interactions with each other and the group as a whole, as well as engaging with them one on one throughout the day. This allows us to ensure they have a positive experience while in our care, so that we are meeting their needs, and the needs of their owners. Camp Run-A-Mutt cares for dogs 365 days a year, including Saturdays, Sundays, and every holiday. Candidates must be able to work during hours of operation.
Responsibilities:
- Consistent and positive physical and verbal interaction with all dogs
- Ensure safety of dogs and staff by following all policies and procedures
- Regular communication with coworkers and customers
- Clean and maintain facility and equipment
Yard attendants will spend the majority of their shift in our outdoor play yard, with a team of other people, interacting with our daycare and boarding dogs. This includes being on your feet and moving around (since the dogs are always moving!) in various weather conditions. There are also different chores to be accomplished throughout the day in order to keep things running smoothly.
Yard staff work hand in hand with the front desk staff to keep everyone aware of dog related information, which allows the front desk to communicate relevant information to customers.
Experience/Education requirements:
The following experiences are a plus:
- Familiarity with dog behavior, body language, and breed traits
- Working in a dog daycare facility
- Animal rescue or related volunteer work
- Animal related certifications or degrees
Regardless of experience, all applicants will be considered. All employees will receive on-the-job training.
