About Us:
Austin Fire & Flood is a full-service restoration company. We mitigate and repair structures after water, fire, mold, hoarding, and bio-hazard damages. Job Summary:
Successful candidates must have refined verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills, outstanding influencing and negotiating skill and be able to self-manage.
Estimates
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering scopes, blueprints, specifications, and related documents sent by AFF inspectors
- Prepares estimates in Xactimate reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends as needed
- Appraises or determines the value of structures and contents
- Maintains contact and a professional relationship with Project Managers and interactions with AFF employees
- Identifies and computes labor, material, and time requirements utilizing Xactimate
- Resolves pricing discrepancies by collecting and analyzing outside information
- Presents prepared estimates for approval
- Continually updates technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications
- Creates and delivers estimate within 2 business days of when all information is received
Advocate
- Works with Adjuster to determines whether the insured’s policy covers the claimed loss
- Advocates for the policyholder (our clients)
- Explains and justifies a fair and reasonable claim settlement for the insured and profitable for AFF
- Communicates with Project Managers on approvals and changes to the claim
- Owns the claim from inception to final payment
- Provides documents to the insurance company within reasonable timeframe
- Maintain a professional relationship with all representatives from the insurance company
Requirements & Qualifications
- 1+ years’ experience writing estimates in Xactimate (required); Level 3 preferred
- 1+ years’ experience in general construction and restoration (required)
- Current and in-depth knowledge of construction regulations (required)
- Experience with Matterport, Google Suites, and Slack (required)
- IICRC Certification (preferred)
- Experience with DASH, Hoover, Eagle view, Company Cam, and Adobe (preferred)
- Experience with TPAs, MRPs, and satisfying Carrier Requirements or Contractors (preferred)
- Demonstrate self-motivation with the ability to plan, organize, and complete tasks independently without close supervision
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
