Radiologic Technologist
Job Summary
Provide quality care of CT/X-ray patients through a PRN role. Perform CT/X-ray examinations to provide images and complex data for determining medical treatment/diagnosis. Follow proper patient protocol as set by the radiologist.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the equipment's capability to image in closer detail as required; consistently produces high quality results.
2. Follows departmental procedure manual to ensure that all standard imaging views are taken; refers to the order for any special instructions that the physician may have indicated. 3. Always verifies the appropriate procedure to be performed by checking the physician's orders on the patient's chart, and contacts the physician if there are any discrepancies.
4. Demonstrates an ability to solve job related problems such as: equipment malfunctions, alternate patient positioning, different views, and the realization of equipment and patient limitations.
5. Regularly checks equipment, accessories, and supplies; keeps area stocked at all times; cleans and disinfects equipment after each patient use; daily cleans CT/X-ray imaging area.
6. Regularly assists in other areas of the department such as: receptionist duties, clinical responsibilities, and other assignments as requested by the supervisor.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma.
Graduate of an approved AMA educational program in Radiologic Technology and certified by a nationally recognized certifying body (ARRT preferred) or licensed by a state and meets the requirements for registry certification.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
6 months experience in a free-standing ER preferred. 3 and over years of experience in diagnostic radiology preferred. Must demonstrate satisfactory proficiency in all aspects of the job within the first 3 months of employment.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certified and Texas Department of Health (TDH) licensure
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
1. The CT/X-ray Technologist should demonstrate a high level of maturity, with the ability to work independently as required.
2. Should demonstrate the ability and self-confidence to make decisions.
3. Must have good interpersonal skills.
4. Must have a good understanding of patient pathology, with the ability to change scanning protocols as required.

Pay: $31.00 - $35.00 per hour
