** X-Ray Tech/ Radiologic Tech to support OR and ED Surgical Services, Supports Ann Arbor and Canton Locations**
POSITION PURPOSE
Performs a variety of specialized invasive and non-invasive diagnostic radiological procedures to provide optimal quality radio graphs for diagnostic interpretation.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
Education: Requires Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience. ARRT registered.
Experience: Two years progressively more responsible related work experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, gather and exchange routine patient information with nursing personnel and physicians. Analytical skills necessary to repair minor equipment malfunctions and determine methods of providing radiographs bases on the specifics of individual cases. Ability to lift and position patients for up to twenty percent of work, time and stand and walk for up to eighty percent of work time when performing required duties. Interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with all patients. Analytical skills necessary to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of computerized tomography techniques and methods, and of cross sectional anatomy in order to obtain quality images. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail at all times when operating equipment, manipulating and reproducing images. Ability to stand and walk for up to eighty percent of work time and to lift and position patients for up to thirty percent of work time. Ability to recognize pathology and tailor examination to provide a complete diagnosis. Ability to function with limited or no supervision in normal circumstances. Is able to assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of coordinator and/or manager.
