Job Description:

The Massachusetts College of Art and Design's Marketing and Communications office seeks a strong Writer and Editor for a temporary position to support the President's office and internal communications initiatives. This individual will work with colleagues in the Marketing and President's offices to write the President's monthly newsletters, draft social media posts, write copy for the annual President's report magazine, prepare talking points for the President's speaking engagements, and provide editing support for internal email communications distributed to the campus community. The individual may also be asked to edit other communications in support of the marketing and communications office's ongoing work. 
Position is temporary, non-benefited, part-time

Job location (hybrid, remote, or in-office) is to be determined.

Salary $35-$40 per hour, commensurate with experience


Requirements:

Required qualifications:

  • Strong Writer and Editor
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt writing to a particular style and voice 
  • Experience writing for executive leadership 
  • Bachelor's degree 
  • At least 3-5 years writing and editing experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience working in higher education desired but not required
  • Familiarity with Mailchimp
  • Ability to write concisely for the web and social media
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to meet deadlines with short notice
