RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Provides and documents direct patient care for patients under the direct supervision of a Wound Care clinician or provider. While the general age of the patient is adult through geriatric, there may occasionally be infants through pediatric patients. The care will include a safe, comfortable and confidential environment.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High school graduate or equivalent, with education, certification, licensure, or degree in a medical field preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
One year of patient care experience preferred
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
BLS certification through AHA required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
For the required minimum education, certification, licensure or degree in a medical field, preference is given to the following areas: Patient Care Tech, Athletic Training, Certified Nursing Assistant, Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician, or Medical Assistant.
Two (2) years direct care with patients including wound dressing and assisting with minor surgical procedures preferred.
Ability to perform diagnostic testing and checklist completion preferred.
Experience with Doppler use preferred.
Experience in billing and use of databases preferred.
