Worship Leader – Part-Time – Interim

First Baptist Church, Clover SC is prayerfully seeking an individual to lead worship services. Currently, we have two worship services on Sundays, one traditional, with hymns and praise choruses, the other contemporary lead by a band. We are a church of 400 (combined services) that values authentic worship. This position would involve about 15-20 hours of commitment per week preparing for worship on Sunday. *This is a part-time Interimposition for about 1 – 1 1/2years, at which time we will seek a full-time Worship Director.

Qualifications

• Devoted follower of Christ; showing growing evidence of fruits of the Spirit in his or her walk

• Approachable, optimistic, enthusiastic

• Mature, wise, discerning; trustworthy

• Humble, compassionate, encouraging, collaborator

• Comfortable with contemporary and traditional worship styles

• Ability to lead vocally

• Ability to lead worship with musical instruments (Piano/keyboard, guitar, etc.)

· Ability to transition smoothly during elements of the worship services

• Biblical discernment for selection of appropriate music, along with ability to effectively lead worship teams for God focused worship times

Responsibilities

• The Worship Director will work closely with the Lead Pastor to lead the congregation in the worship of God, specifically by leading the music ministry

• The Worship Director is responsible to plan, prepare, rehearse, and lead the congregation, vocalists, and musicians in music during Sunday Services

• Conducting practices in a time efficient way

• To provide leadership for the worship team

• To guide corporate worship in a way that focuses on God, His attributes, and His deeds

• This role is expected to encompass musicianship, song selection, with a congregational approach to worship
