Worship Leader

The Highland Lakes Worship Leader will provide leadership to the worship ministry and inspire the congregation toward a culture of worship – a whole life response to who God is and what He has done. This person will seek to engage people in meaningful worship that is Christ-centered and Biblically accurate and will produce each weekly worship service. This person will also provide leadership over a to-be-determined area of ministry within Austin Ridge. This additional area of oversight and involvement will be determined based on the strong alignment of the candidate’s personal skills and the needs of the church.

• Leader who serves, not solely as a musical or performing arts director, but also as a shepherd to the people who serve in this ministry
• Concerned for those who are unreached/unchurched
• Humble, teachable, and relational

ABILITIES:

• Musically and vocally qualified
• A heart for the spiritual growth of those in the congregation and the Worship Ministry
• Relationally skilled and an enthusiastic presence for leading large groups in worship
• Proficient in choral, vocal, and instrumental direction and leading a team of vocalists and musicians
• Skilled in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships
• Experienced in the use of technology in worship and in the use of sound, lighting, computers, ProPresenter, and video projection
• Self-starter
• Team player with a positive attitude

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build, encourage, and oversee the core teams necessary to carry out the vision of the Worship Ministry (i.e. Worship Team, Tech Team, Creative Team, Hospitality Team)
• Lead and oversee the directors for each core team
• Develop and maintain Worship Ministry budget
• Plan corporate worship services, with direction from Campus Pastor, through prayer, conceptual forethought, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness
• Ensure that all musical and technical aspects of the service advance the theme and vision
• Oversee song selection, media preparation and presentation, sound and lighting production, and coordination of all instrumentalists and vocalists
• Direct all weekly activities and rehearsals necessary to facilitate worship in weekly services
• Provide care for the volunteers and leaders of the core teams
• Develop future Worship Leaders
• Organize and conduct ministry team meetings with the directors of the core teams
• Introduce all core teams to worship/production training provided by other ministries, books, and conferences
• Plan 2-3 major seasonal (Christmas/Easter) services per year that are creative, worshipful celebrations that exalt Christ
• Build contacts and relationships with local musicians, studios, and musical organizations for both evangelistic and staffing purposes
• Set and evaluate quarterly/annual goals for the Worship Ministry that are in line with church vision
• Be involved in pastoral duties as determined by Campus Pastor

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Agrees with and commits to Austin Ridge’s Statement of Faith
• Is currently or is willing to become an active partner of Austin Ridge
• Must agree to and pass a background check
• Willing and available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

• Under the overall guidance of the Elder Board and the Lead Pastor
• Reports directly to the HL Campus Pastor
• Member of the Austin Ridge Ministry Team
