What We Do:
OhioMHAS operates regional psychiatric hospitals in six locations across the state that operate 365/24/7. Our specialized facilities provide short-term, intensive treatment to patients in both inpatient and community-supported environments. We also deliver comprehensive care to patients committed through the criminal justice system.

8:00 am - 4:30 pm M-F (Unusual or Rotating Shift; Flex as needed to meet operational needs)

What You'll Do:
Coordinates, monitors & delivers Vocational Rehabilitation Services to disabled clients, ages 18 through geriatrics: conducts interviews with clients rehabilitation to assess Rehabilitation Services needs (e.g., gathering information regarding clients' disability, functional limitations, work history, educational background & special interest); conducts vocational assessments (e.g., Holland Inventory); counsels clients on career planning; teaches job seeking skills to clients individually or in a group setting; develops or links clients to employment placements; monitors clients' work performance & provides job coaching when needed; facilitates clients to & from employment placements; develops & provides vocational programming on & off the units; facilitates & supports Mental Health Recovery for individuals with severe & persistent mental illness; promotes consumer recovery & employment.
Represents Rehabilitation Services on more than one treatment team for 30-35 clients: plans & writes integrated rehabilitation goals, objectives & interventions; monitors & reports clients progress; writes monthly & bi-weekly progress notes in clients' chart; facilitates timely & meaningful communication between unit staff & rehabilitation staff; assists with therapeutic recreational activities as needed; monitors & compiles attendance reports of clients participating in Rehabilitation Services; assists in escorting to & from programs off units; participates in team meetings.
Responsible for completing referrals for Rehabilitation Services: facilitates individual & group counseling (e.g., vocational); facilitates rehabilitation assessments & referrals assists in planning & ordering Rehabilitation Services programming materials; compiles statistical outcomes from programming materials; familiarize staff, state employees, tour groups with Rehabilitation Services; acts as liaison & maintains contact with other organizations or businesses regarding Rehabilitation Services.
Completes clinical documentation to assure compliance with accrediting/certifying agencies (e.g., Joint Commission, Medicare): accurately completes assessments (e.g., initial comprehensive & annual); completes other clinical documentation (e.g., progress reports which identify & document program statistics & services; prepares (e.g., gathers data, checks for accuracy, distributes, formats) reports &/or documentation as directed by supervisor, completes & submits other program designs &/or documentation as requested by department head &/or supervisor; prepares computer-generated reports as required.
Participates in Rehab Department meetings, assigned committee meetings, task forces, &/or professional meetings representing Vocational Rehab Services; attends & participates in scheduled supervisory meetings; completes required documentation to accomplish these tasks; provides clinical supervision of discipline or specialty area for assigned student practicums, internships & volunteers: monitors & evaluates programs related to treatment & discipline (e.g., methods, techniques, & theories of Vocational Rehab); knowledge of NBH procedures for responding to workplace incidents & working knowledge of NBH safety & prevention programs, including infection control; knowledge of NBH safety procedures that minimize risk to patients & staff in a hospital or community environment; possess the ability to identify risks to safety & health & respond & report per NBH policies.

Qualifications
30 mos. exp. counseling persons who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled or other disadvantaged group of people.
-Or completion of undergraduate core program in human services area (e.g., rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, occupational therapy) & 12 mos. exp. counseling persons who are mentally ill or developmentally disabled or other disadvantaged group of people.
-Or completion of graduate core program in human services area (e.g., rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, occupational therapy).
-Or alternative, equivalent evidence of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
