Position Information:
MORE has partnered with a local employer in the light industrial sector to set up onsite workplace English classes to upskill employees. The Workplace ELL Teacher will teach an early morning class one day per week. There is an option for this class to meet online. These classes will cover topics such as cultural differences in the workplace, health and safety, equipment safety, and work goals and benefits. All workplace English instructor positions are independent contractors. Contract positions are renewable based on performance and student enrollment.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
Instructional Responsibilities
Implement best practices in instruction for adult learners to provide high-quality English language, basic consumer math, and digital literacy instruction appropriate to learners in class.
Use various instructional techniques and resources to address diverse needs and goals of learners, including existing curriculum.
Assessment and Record-keeping Responsibilities
Closely monitor and complete daily student attendance and other required reports accurately and submit promptly.
Commit to growing students’ capacity, evaluate student achievement and communicate with the Program Office and other teachers regarding student movement.
Staff Responsibilities
Represent MORE positively to the business community, including keeping up a good rapport with contacts at workplaces.
Use technology for teaching, communication, information tracking and data collection.
Attend professional development activities offered by the State of MN, and ABE programs as needed.

Necessary Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferred areas include ELL and Education)
Experience teaching can replace the bachelor’s degree requirement
Experience working with refugees and immigrants, preferably in ELL

Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office 365 products

Teaching License
TESOL/TEFL Certification
Compensation/Benefits: This position is part-time and hourly. Pay is commensurate with experience and education.
Additional hours may become available as workplace partnerships continue to grow.
