Description
The Workforce Development Coordinatorwill support YWCA efforts to build employment capacity by continually expanding the network of employer partners and maintaining relationships with these employers, resulting in a variety of employment opportunities for eligible clients served in the refugee and immigrant programs. They will support the Workforce Program Director and Employment Specialists by disseminating job opportunity updates, facilitate discussion and provide guidance on specific cases, tracking client progress and maintaining case file. Connect individuals to education opportunities as well as finding and maintaining employment.
Partner Outreach

  • Conduct outreach and recruitment through public speaking and networking events, community partner referrals, job fairs, cold calls, leveraging agency network contacts and utilizing print media and computer-based resources.
  • Initiate new employer contact and follow up with each potential employer lead by phone or email resulting in a personal meeting with company owners, managers and/or human resources staff.
  • Conduct an employer Needs Analysis and explain agency resources.
  • Develop a partnership strategy for potential job openings, interpretation and translation needs, on-site English classes, on-the-job training or internships and/or other opportunities as identified.
  • Present program information to help employer gain understanding of the populations seeking employment and educate them on the advantages of hiring YWCA clients, given the case management and interpretation services available to clients.
  • Answer questions; address specific concerns and when appropriate or requested, provide factual information training to employers and management staff about the refugee and immigrant experience in its entirety, as well as ethnic, linguistic and cultural information on specific refugee or immigrant job seekers in the local community.

Team Support and Guidance
  • Assist eligible clients in setting goals and creating specialized plans including employment, career and self-sufficiency goals as required by grant and program requirements.
  • Coordinate employment and education services - connecting clients to employment opportunities and facilitating applications, providing job orientation, connecting clients to education and workforce training opportunities,
  • Support the Workforce, Case management, an Adult Education Departments by disseminating job opportunities.
  • Access Apricot database for RSS programs and come prepared to weekly meetings to discuss critical cases and strategize with Caseworkers and Employment Specialists to develop appropriate individual career pathways options for clients.
  • Review client intake assessment and ESL classwork on Work Preferences, Goal Setting and Skills Inventory.
  • Data Tracking and Reporting
  • Maintain the employer database with up-to-date info on employer partners and compile statistics for CareerTech and RSS reports. Track labor market, hiring and job retention trends in Tulsa Metro Area job market. Cooperative Activities and Networking Participate in Tulsa Workforce Solutions/DOL Partners & Business Services
  • Assist with service deliveries relative to Skilled Immigrant Integration Program (SIIP) including resource development and sharing. Assist in planning Immigrant and Refugee Services (I&R) meetings; invite other departments to present opportunities to the group to bridge and advance opportunities for refugees and immigrants.
  • Assist Workforce Program Director in organizing work site tours and plan job fairs and hiring events. Professional Growth and Development
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings for supervision, team building and program planning
  • Participate in regular sessions to review cases, discuss employment strategy and monitor client progress.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings as determined by Director
  • Participate in YWCA functions as needed and requested by the Manager and/or Director.
  • Comply with all YWCA policies and procedures.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Salary: $50,000- $55,000 per year
Requirements
  • Proficient computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office Suite, databases)
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English and another world language, preferably Spanish, at a fluent level.
  • Comfortable presenting in front of a group of individuals.
  • Knowledge of the local economy, labor market, and employer base.
  • General knowledge of public employment and training programs.
  • Understanding and awareness of the needs of disadvantaged individuals and other persons who face barriers to employment required.
  • Understanding of techniques for developing jobs in the public and private sectors.
  • Must be an advocate for the mission, values and goals of the YWCA Tulsa.
  • Work effectively with all employees and members of all races, religions, sexes, national origins, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, and gender expressions; and without regard to disability status, genetic information, marital status, or status as a covered veteran, and socio-economic backgrounds. Education/Experience:
  • High school degree or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with immigrants and refugees in a workforce or job support setting, including in interviewing and employment counseling preferred.
  • Experience building relationships with businesses preferred.
  • Experience in recruitment or staff preferred.
  • Reliable transportation with valid Oklahoma driver license and current insurance verification.

Salary Description
$50,000 - $55,000 per year
