Utility Worker
I. JOB DESCRIPTIONDepartment: As assigned
Location: Hazlehurst, MS
Reports to: Department Supervisor
II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Perform any job in assigned department during employee absence and/or as assigned by department supervisor or designee.
III. RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERSAs specifically directed by Dept. Supervisor or designee.
IV. BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONMust be able to communicate with manager and co-workers.
V. SUPERVISION REQUIREDDirect supervision by the Department Supervisor during each shift.
- EDUCATION REQUIRED
Some education with basic reading and math skills.
- TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Requires the ability to stand and walk for the entire shift. Requires the ability to perform all jobs in the assigned area. Requires the ability to bend from the waist to retrieve raw materials from pallets at ground level. Must be able to effectively communicate standard methods to complete all area tasks.
VIII. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Previous production experience.

- SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble and/or package product in department.
- Trained and able to run all machines in assigned department.
- Work at any of the assigned jobs as assigned.
- Complete special assignments.
- Work with Leads/Supervisor to verify quality product is produced in efficient manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but hearing protection may be required depending on the department where the employee is assigned.
